The condition of our skin can make a tremendous difference in how we perceive ourselves and has been linked to a profound impact on psychological health. However, we should be able to accept and love ourselves, regardless of appearance. The Naturopathic approach takes into consideration the physical, biochemical and environmental impacts on our skin. Naturopathic doctors work with patients to uncover the root cause of skin issues that begin in other organ systems.
Some of the most common ways that naturopathic physicians approach treating skin conditions include:
Support digestion and gut health
Addressing food allergies and sensitivities
Mitigate inflammation pathways
Utilizing herbs and supplements

Botox and other neuromodulators can be used to effectively help with pain syndromes such as migraines, headaches and temporal-mandibular joint dysfunction as well as managing hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) of the armpits, hands and feet.
To determine if this can help you, this can be discussed and treated in an initial therapeutic botox appointment.

Morpheus8 is a minimally invasive bipolar radiofrequency (RF) tissue treatment for fractional coagulation of subcutaneous tissue. Morpheus8 provides an interchangeable portfolio of microneedling tips to deliver customizable fractional treatments. It provides facial treatments to improve the face and neck to more defined characteristics and a younger, brighter appearance. During treatment, radiofrequency energy is delivered to treat tissue as well as address signs of aging, irregularities and pigmentation that provides visible, natural results.
What to expect:
You will be resting comfortably on a treatment table for this treatment. Numbing of the treated areas are essential. This is achieved by topical application for 45-60 minutes with an effective topical numbing cream. Skin is then cleansed and sterilized using topical skin sterilizing solutions and degreased with 70% alcohol. The device is then used over the areas and will have 1-2 passes at each level of depth we need to use to get the best results.
Expected healing time for the Morpheus8 is 48 hours where you will be required to apply a protective barrier cream to prevent complications or infection. After 48 hours you will be able to continue your regular prescribed skin care routine. We recommend using Alumier MD products as they have a developed post treatment care program for the Morpheus8. More information will be provided in the initial skin care consultation (15 minutes) and will include pre and post care instructions.
Duration: 1-3 hours depending on numbing technique with 3 treatments over 12-18 weeks. The skin healing and treatment effects continue to develop over up to 3 months after your last treatment.
Results: It is safe for all skin types and tones with little to no risk for hyperpigmentation. Call clinic for costs and booking.

Lumecca is the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) to treat pigmented and vascular lesions. After just one use, patients notice significant improvements in the complexion and clarity of the skin. Lumecca operates using photothermolysis, which provides a photofacial through the delivery of a comfortable light treatment. There is little down time but be expected to be out of the sun 2 weeks prior to each treatment and 2 weeks after each treatment. Sunscreen is essential for maintaining the results long-term.
Duration: This treatment takes 30-45 minutes.
What are the benefits? In just 1-3 sessions Lumecca can improve the appearance of age spots (red/brown pigmentations), sun damage, vascular lesions (spider veins, port wine stains, leg telangiectasia ), rosacea (redness), and freckles. The most common areas treated are: face, neck and decolleté and hands. Not all skin types will be able to receive IPL as it’s effects are based on the relative colour changes in the skin (ie it removes ‘reds’ and ‘browns’).

The Alumier Glow Peel combines 7% lactic acid, 7% salicylic acid, and 7% resorcinol, creating a multipurpose resurfacing solution effective in minimizing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and discolouration like age spots and uneven skin tone. This formula exfoliates dead skin cells and stimulates cell renewal. To suit individual needs, Glow Peel can be customized in strength by the number of layers applied.
This treatment is suggested to be performed monthly for three months then maintained 3-4 times per year.
Platelet Rich Plasma
-
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is an autologous (which means derived from the same individual biologic derived from whole blood that is preferentially enriched with platelets and growth factors. The components derived from PRP play a biological role in the healing process of the body; it stimulates new tissue growth, regeneration and repair.
PRP offers patients and clinicians an alternative to other anti-aging or regenerative options such as steroid (joint) or hyaluronic acid (filler) injections that provide short-term results by masking symptoms and prevent true healing and repair of the treated area. When injected into the skin PRP accelerated the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin to provide overall skin rejuvenation.
Treatments can improve skin texture and tone, reduce fine lines and scarring and stimulate collagen and skin cell production for a plumper, more radiant complexion.
-
PRP can be used in overall skin rejuvenation and anti-aging protocols, it can also be used in acne scarring, superficial scarring, melasma or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, hair loss, stretch marks and cellulite reduction.

You will provide a blood sample that will be drawn into a tube at the clinic and we will process your sample to extract the active PRP components. Depending on the area being treated, there will be several injections of PRP under the skin and down time will vary. For all facial injections, numbing cream is applied prior to the treatment.

There are different reasons for hair loss or alopecia. Hormonal hair loss for men and women require a complete Initial Naturopath Intake to determine the cause of the alopecia and to prescribe other supportives that may be needed to aid the therapy to work effectively. You will then receive the treatment through small injections placed 1 cm apart over the entire treatment area. PRP for hair restoration works very well for transplantation procedures by improving uptake of grafts.

For facial treatments, a cannula is often used to minimize bruising and improve comfort during PRP administration. It can be injected into different layers of the skin depending on what is being treated. For facial rejuvenation, it is recommended to have 3 treatments 6 weeks apart and you should expect 24-48 hours down time due to risk of bruising.
